At first, let's clarify what stands for TLDP. It is The Linux Documentation Project. Probably you already use the documentation created by this project. Many of the HOWTOs on the net are from TLDP.org. TLDP has very large collection of HOWTOs, guides and tutorials.
This collection is available online, both on this wiki for the most up to date (may be faulty) documentation or from the "Static HOWTOs" link on the right menu on this very page. Static HOWTO may be old, look at the date before using them.
Is you want them locally, on your computer, it's possible. Debian and openSUSE users can install all the HOWTOs, but chance is these HOWTOs are old (at least as old as the distribution cd/dvd). Other Linux users can't. Coudn't :-).
As of May 2009 there is a TLDP Repo (The Linux Documentation Project Repository) built to be useful for as many distros as possible. For now we have support for only YUM and RPM based distributions like Fedora, CentOS, Red Hat and others but we are in process of extending our support to include Debian, Ubuntu, Gentoo, OpenSUSE, Slackware. Actually, our target is Linux. So, every Linux distro is welcome.
To use TLDP Repo in Fedora/CentOS/Red Hat you need to download and install this repository package: http://repo.tldp.org/tldp-repo-0.1-1.noarch.rpm Work in progress, use http://78.130.133.76/tldp-repo-0.1-1.noarch.rpm for the moment.
After that you will be able to install and use The Linux Documentation Project HOWTOs. They are 458, so I wish you to have a nice time reading them...
For OpenSUSE users
Launch YaST, repo management, and add this URL
http://78.130.133.76/tldp/base
Then in Software install, search for "tldp" and you will see the hole tldp collection.
You can as well type zypper ar http://78.130.133.76/tldp/base TLDP in any root xterm, to have the repository available.
Other archives
At this moment, we have only rpm packages but we are in process of creating also deb, gentoo and slackware packages as well. Oooh and conary packages for the Foresight users...
